#1 Redstor’s Entra ID Backup Isn’t Just Backup; It’s Resilience Redefined

With Entra ID, formerly known as Azure Active Directory, proving a popular choice for MSPs, we kick off this week by highlighting a powerful platform for protecting your Entra ID clients.

Redstor’s Entra ID Backup isn’t just backup; it’s resilience.

By capturing and securing every critical Entra ID element – user configurations, attributes, roles, and relationships – Redstor ensures that businesses can quickly and easily recover from any disruption.

#2 GTIA Resources

GTIA have released their State of the Channel 2025 report, and it reveals some interesting statistics.

53% of MSPs say they expect significant AI-growth related revenue in 2025, with 30% saying they are ahead of their business plans this year.

But workforce skills challenges persist, four in 10 channel firms say they are struggling to find and compete for workers with the right skills.

The GTIA State of the Channel report is a free download, and well worth reading.

#3 Service Management and Automation

A podcast that caught my ear is Evolved Radio hosted by Todd Kane, with guest Gerwai Todd of TimeZest and PIA.

Kane and Todd delve into the transformative role of AI technology in ticket management, highlighting its ability to automate and streamline service desk operations.

This is well worth a listen.

#4 Recommended Books for MSPs

A book I find myself recommending a lot is Team: Getting Things Done with Others, by David Allen and Edward Lamont.

This is a groundbreaking book about how to harness the power of collaboration and work most effectively in groups, and I’d recommend it to all MSP businesses.

#5 Huntress Roadshow

European MSPs, by popular demand, the Huntress EMEA roadshow rolls at the world famous Carlsberg Brewery in Copenhagen, Denmark on 10th April 2025, and Amsterdam in the Netherlands on 20th May 2025.

This is a great opportunity to meet the cybersecurity experts from Huntress, discuss threat protection with your fellow MSPs, and have a beer, too.

Registration is now open. Cheers!

#1 Vade Joins Hornetsecurity Group, Creating a European Cybersecurity Leader

Big news this week as Hornetsecurity announce their acquisition of Altospam, a leading French email security prover. This will enable Hornetsecurity to further extend its position as a European cybersecurity champion.

With Hornetsecurity providing a comprehensive suite of solutions for Microsoft 365 via one convenient platform, Altospam will be the perfect complement, bringing their expertise to email cybersecurity solutions through their solutions for securing professional emails.

#2 How to Become a Key Person of Influence

Over on TubbTalk, we’ve just published an interview with author and entrepreneur Daniel Priestley. This episode is jam-packed with value and I really enjoyed working on it.

Daniel explained his process for becoming oversubscribed as an MSP. How do you do that? By increasing demand so it exceeds supply. That way you have people queuing up to work with you.

Do you want your MSP to be oversubscribed with clients chasing you? On TubbTalk, @DanielPriestley shares how to build influence fast, leverage social media and become a key person of influence in your industry. Click to Share

He also talked about becoming a key person of influence in your industry. You need to reach as many people as possible as quickly as possible, so you need to use social media to leverage your personal brand.

Have a listen now to hear more of Daniel’s advice for MSPs!

#3 UK Threatens £100K-a-Day Fines Under New Cyber Bill

Friend of Tubblog and owner of Bondgate IT, Damien Harrison, shared this article from The Register at the end of last week.

It reports on the latest developments on the UK government’s Cyber Security and Resilience (CSR) Bill, which is expected to enter Parliament later this year.

The technology secretary shared what the bill sets out, including daily fines of £100,000 for failing to act against specific threats under consideration.

This would apply if an MSP failed to patch against a widely exploited vulnerability within a time frame specified by a government order, and was then hit by attacks, so it’s essential to be aware of the new requirements.

#4 Microsoft at 50: Enterprise IT for the Masses

Video of the week, and well worth 15 seconds of your time is former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer repeatedly chanting ‘developers’ at an event in 1999

But what’s more interesting is the story around the video, because a Computer Weekly magazine reports, Microsoft is 50 this year. It’s quite remarkable to reflect on the changes in personal computing since 1975.

And the company isn’t resting on its laurels – Microsoft 11 will launch in October, and the current CEO has big plans for it to become a leading AI business. And people are interested to see how they revolutionise LinkedIn, which it bought in 2016.

So even if your MSP doesn’t use Microsoft, it’s definitely one to keep an eye on for the next 50 years.

#5 The Best LinkedIn-focused Conference in the UK

Let’s talk about events. You might have seen online that Richard was at UpLift Live in March, the UK’s only conference that focuses solely on LinkedIn.

Now, if you’re thinking, “Yeah, but I’m an MSP. Why should I bother with a marketing event?” then I think you’ve just answered your own question!

You’ve just heard that Daniel Priestley recommends using social media to build your personal brand, and if you want to grow your MSP then unfortunately you really do have to market yourself.

And you don’t have to do much to start to see results. While LinkedIn has one billion – yes, one BILLION – members, only 1% of users post weekly. And those users generate 9 billion impressions per week.

So, do you think you could manage 4 posts per month? And if you’re stuck for ideas, then UpLift Live 2026 might be the place for you!

#1 SuperOps SuperSummit Arrives in Manchester

SuperOps is bringing their brilliant MSP SuperSummit to Manchester on 6th May 2025, with the theme “The MSP Revolution – Superpowering Growth with AI.” I’ll be there alongside some top MSP minds including Mark Copeman and Scott Riley. With its strict “No-Pitch” policy and community focus, this free event is not to be missed!

#2 Thought-Provoking MSP Leadership Blog

I’ve been rather enjoying Eric Rieger’s blog “Cogs and Consciousness” lately. His latest piece, “The Cost of (Not) Living Your Values,” brilliantly examines what happens when client relationships test your company values—something many of us MSP owners have grappled with at some point.

#3 Security Tool for Sensitive Information Sharing

Here’s a smashing tool for your security toolkit: QuickForget.com lets you share sensitive information without putting all your eggs in one basket. Send usernames via email, passwords via QuickForget, and job done! They don’t set cookies or store your data, which is rather refreshing in today’s digital landscape.

#4 Yorkshire Cybersecurity Community

For my fellow Northern MSPs, YCSC (Yorkshire Cyber Security Cluster) is doing fantastic work connecting cyber professionals across the region. This non-profit network facilitates collaboration and partnership opportunities that could prove invaluable. Massive thanks to Mike Hudson for flagging this one!

#5 Hornetsecurity Roadshow 2025

Hornetsecurity‘s Roadshow is touring the UK and Ireland next spring, with stops in Edinburgh, Birmingham, London, Dublin, Manchester, and Bristol. Each event is hosted in a top distillery—cybersecurity discussions paired with a proper drink sounds like my kind of networking!

#1 Uptime Live 2025 – No-Pitch Strategic MSP Event

Uptime Live is coming back to London’s May Fair on 25th September 2025! Bradley Munday and Jason Kemsley of Uptime have created something rather special here—a proper business-focused event with absolutely no vendor pitching. It’s run as not-for-profit, which means early bird tickets are just £29.99 until 5th May. Every penny goes straight back into making the event better for you. Team Tubb will be there in force, and I’d love to say hello!

#2 Inside Agent – M365 Security Tool

The Bearded 365 Guy, Jonathan Edwards, has put together a brilliant video on Inside Agent, a cracking security tool created by MSP expert Scott Riley. It’s perfect if you’re managing loads of Microsoft 365 tenants, as it runs over 95 security checks across everything from Entra ID to Defender. Jonathan explains it all with his usual flair—well worth a watch to get up to speed on one of this year’s most promising security solutions.

#3 PSA Profitability Book

I’ve been recommending Chris Timm’s “PSA Profitability” book to everyone lately. If you’re looking to squeeze more value from your PSA tool, this is absolutely essential reading. Chris knows his stuff inside out, and he’s packed this guide with practical advice that’ll help you boost efficiency and profits. Check it out!

#4 Mental Resilience for MSP Teams

We get so caught up with tech that it’s easy to forget about the humans using it! That’s why I’m a massive fan of Polly Brennan (Adventurous Polly), who’s brilliant at helping MSP teams build mental resilience. We at Team Tubb have seen first-hand how valuable her work is. Her weekly newsletter is packed with practical tips for keeping your team fighting fit mentally, no matter what challenges come your way.

#5 The IT Experts Podcast

I’m a regular listener (and occasional guest!) on Ian Luckett‘s IT Experts Podcast. Ian’s one of the UK’s top MSP coaches, and he delivers proper, actionable advice for building a more profitable tech business. Perfect for your commute or when you’re having a brew and need some MSP inspiration.
