WindowSwap – Open a New Window Somewhere in the World
Do you ever want to change the view from your window? Perhaps see the view from another window, somewhere else in the world?
Every Friday I share one of my favourite finds of the week — a website, tool or an app that has impressed me.
My Friday Favourite this week is WindowSwap – Open a New Window Somewhere in the World.
What is it?
WindowSwap is a website that allows you to watch video footage of the views from windows all over the world.
How much does it cost?
WindowSwap is free to use.
You can support the cost of the WindowSwap service by buying WindowSwap a coffee.
Open a New Window Somewhere in the World
During the COVID-19 lockdown, many of us have been stuck at home, unable to scratch our itch to visit new locations and see new things.
I’ve written before about Why Taking Your Meetings Outdoors Can Help You Be More Creative, and during the pandemic, I’ve been making sure to get outside for walks as much as possible.
But many of us live in cities and are unable to change our scenery so easily.
WindowSwap is a simple idea. It’s a website which allows you to see the views from other windows elsewhere in the world.
As I write this on a wet and windy day in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne in the North East of England, I’m using WindowSwap to look out of David’s window in Koph, Tao, Thailand.
Yesterday, I was looking through David’s window to see and hear the sounds of a beautiful sunny day in London.
You can click through WindowSwap until you find a view that suits your mood.
All of the views are submitted by users from across the world, and you’re free to submit your own window view too!
How can I get it?
Simply visit WindowSwap and choose your view!
You can also follow @WindowSwap on Twitter.
Thanks to Claudia Dawson of Recomendo for the recommendation!
