Ecosia – The Search Engine that Plants Trees!
Every Friday I share one of my favourite finds of the week — a website, tool or an app that has impressed me.
My Friday Favourite this week is Ecosia – The Search Engine that Plants Trees!
What is it?
Ecosia is a search engine that uses the profit it makes to plant trees where they are most needed.
How can it help me?
I’ve written before about how to use Carbon Offsetting to reduce your carbon footprint.
It’s small, easy to take steps like this that I believe can make a huge difference globally.
Searching with Ecosia is like using any search engine — but with one difference. Every time you use Ecosia to do a search, you’re helping to plant trees that help both local communities and the planet as a whole!
I also like the transparency that Ecosia is showing. Ecosia publishes their monthly financial reports, so you can see exactly where their income goes.
I’ve made Ecosia my default search engine.
How much does it cost?
Ecosia is free to use.
How can I get it?
You can visit https://www.ecosia.org/ to start using it to search now.
You can also add Ecosia as your default search engine in Chrome.
Visit Ecosia on Facebook, or follow @Ecosia on Twitter.
Thanks to Matt Barton of MSPComparison.com for sharing Ecosia with me!
